Job summary

Twilight Gardens in Norwalk, Ohio is seeking PRN Respiratory Therapists (RT) to join our team. This role offers premium wages, free CEUs, and an excellent benefits package.

The RT will set up and operate ventilators and related therapy equipment, monitor patient responses, and assist with breathing exercises under physician orders. Requires completion of an approved respiratory therapy program and an active state license.

Qualifications

  • One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.
  • Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
  • Operates equipment to ensure parameters of treatment (volume, gas concentration, humidity, temperature) and administers medicinal gases and aerosol drugs under physician orders.
  • Monitors patient physiological responses to therapy and vital signs.
  • Assists patients with breathing exercises.
  • Observes equipment function and adjusts to obtain optimum results; consults with physician on adverse reactions.
  • Maintains patient charts with therapy information and documents progress.
  • Inspects and tests equipment for safe and efficient operation; orders repairs when needed.
  • Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and health care personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFORRTS (RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS):

  • Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
  • Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature, and to administer medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician.
  • Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs.
  • Assists patient in performing breathing exercises.
  • Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy. Consults with Physician in event of adverse reactions.
  • Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information.
  • Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
  • Orders repairs when needed.
  • Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel.
