Job summary

Solon Pointe in Solon, Ohio is seeking Respiratory Therapists to join our Night Shift team. This full-time role offers night hours (7p-7a) and the opportunity to work with a dedicated care team.

Responsibilities include setting up ventilators, administering therapies, monitoring patients, teaching staff, and keeping accurate therapy records. Applicants should have completed an approved respiratory therapy program and hold an active license.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.
• Experience or training in respiratory care is acceptable as alternative.
• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates devices such as ventilators and gas administration apparatus.
• Monitors patient vital signs and responses to therapy.
• Assists patients with breathing exercises and therapy adherence.
• Maintains patient charts with therapy information.
• Inspects equipment for safety and efficiency; orders repairs when needed.
• Demonstrates procedures to trainees and healthcare staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following: other duties may be assigned.

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.




• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature, and to administer medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician.




• Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs.




• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises.




• Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy. Consults with Physician in event of adverse reactions.




• Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information.




• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.




• Orders repairs when needed.




• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
