Job summary

Solon Pointe in Solon, Ohio is currently seeking Respiratory Therapists to join our amazing Night Shift team. You will work closely with physicians and nursing staff to deliver high-quality respiratory care in a fast-paced setting.

Our facility emphasizes patient safety, teamwork, and compassionate support for patients and families. This full-time night position offers increased wages and a shift differential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.
• 1–3 months of related experience or training.
• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
• Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy and vital signs.
• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises.
• Observes and adjusts equipment to achieve optimum therapy results and consults with physician on adverse reactions.
• Maintains patient charts with therapy information.
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment for safe operation and arranges repairs as needed.
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature, and to administer medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician.
• Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs.
• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises.
• Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy. Consults with Physician in event of adverse reactions.
• Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information.
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
• Orders repairs when needed.
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
