Position Overview

The Respiratory Therapist (RT) plays an integral role in the success of our team and community, ensuring residents receive comprehensive respiratory care. The primary purpose of this position is to assess, treat, and manage patients with breathing difficulties or cardiopulmonary disorders. Responsibilities include diagnosing respiratory issues, administering therapies such as oxygen and aerosol medications, monitoring patient progress, and educating patients on self‑care. The RT works closely with physicians to develop individualized treatment plans and operates specialized medical equipment.

Position Details

Respiratory Therapist – LTC for Seniors

Full Time Day Shift 7A – 7P

Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (Full Time Day Shift 7A – 7P, Full Time Overnights 7P – 7A)

$36–$40 per hour + Shift Differentials

Essential Job Functions

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examinations, and record review.
• Collaborate with physicians to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver respiratory therapies such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and airway clearance techniques.
• Educate patients on lung conditions, medication use, breathing exercises, and self‑care practices.
• Maintain and calibrate respiratory therapy equipment.
• Monitor vital signs, lung sounds, and other relevant parameters during treatment.
• Provide immediate care in emergency situations requiring airway management or resuscitation.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

• Work effectively with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and patients.

Education and Experience

• Meet all state and federal requirements for this position.
• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy with a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) license or a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential for advanced practice.
• Prefer one year of experience in nursing in a home care, assisted living, or long‑term care facility.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Prolonged standing, walking, and bending.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Pushing and pulling heavy objects such as oxygen tanks.
• Frequent reaching, stooping, crouching, and kneeling.

Cognitive and Environmental Requirements

• Execute tasks independently.
• Express oneself clearly and effectively.
• General computer literacy.

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
