Sky Lakes Medical Center Inc. is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide patient- and family-focused care as part of the health care team.
The role emphasizes adherence to state scope of practice and clinical guidelines, with focus on adult, geriatric and critical care patients. Essential duties include performing respiratory procedures, documenting data, and participating in codes and resuscitation efforts, along with providing education and maintaining a safe clinical environment
Registered Respiratory Therapist provides patient and family focused care as part of the health care team in accordancewith Sky Lakes Business Priorities and Core Values, while utilizing the Oregon Health Licensing Practice Act #688.800,American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) Respiratory Care Scope of Practice and AARC Clinical Practice Guideline.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Experience in Adult, Geriatric, and Critical Care; and Computer skills. Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Experience in Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent Care; Demonstrates knowledge and competency in delivery ofpatient care while assigned a full load of patient procedures; Is flexible with schedule changes or changing job assignmentsto meet patient care needs; Exhibits a willingness to learn new procedures and be open to new methods for delivery of carein a team environment; Demonstrates professionalism by appearance, actions, self-development, interdepartmental andguest relations; Uses interpersonal skills which convey a positive and supportive attitude, and Excellent communicationskills both verbally and in writing.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Continually walking, standing. Frequently lift 50 pounds or more, pulling, stooping, and reaching. Occasionally sittingwhile charting; pushing, twisting, and kneeling during patient care. Potential exposure to hospital borne infection.Frequently operates, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment. Must be physically able to stoop, bend, reach and frequentlylift 50 pounds or more. Continuous walking and/or standing throughout shift required. Must maintain knowledge of and practice safe body mechanics according to Sky Lakes Medical Center policies.
