Job summary

Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorsville, NC is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our clinical team. Full-Time & Part-Time opportunities are available, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus for Full-Time RTs only.

As an RT, you will provide high-quality respiratory care, collaborate with physicians and nursing staff, and support patient recovery in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. The role emphasizes patient-centered care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RT program with North Carolina license.
• Experience with mechanical ventilation preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators and respiratory therapy equipment.
• Administer prescribed respiratory treatments, therapeutic gases, and aerosol medications.
• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status, vital signs, and responses to treatment.
• Assist patients with breathing exercises and prescribed respiratory techniques.
• Monitor and adjust respiratory equipment according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely respiratory therapy documentation.
• Inspect and maintain respiratory equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Provide respiratory care education and support to patients, staff, and caregivers as appropriate.

Respiratory Therapist (RT) Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist at Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, you will provide high-quality respiratory care while working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators and respiratory therapy equipment.

• Administer prescribed respiratory treatments, therapeutic gases, and aerosol medications.

• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status, vital signs, and responses to treatment.

• Assist patients with breathing exercises and prescribed respiratory techniques.

• Recognize and promptly report changes in patient conditions.

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.

• Maintain accurate and timely respiratory therapy documentation.

• Inspect and maintain respiratory equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.

• Provide respiratory care education and support to patients, staff, and caregivers as appropriate.

Respiratory Therapist (RT) Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.

• Active North Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner License Required.

• Previous respiratory therapy experience preferred.

• Experience with mechanical ventilation and respiratory equipment preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
