Job summary

Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, KY is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support cardiopulmonary services. You will measure lung capacity, analyze samples, deliver and monitor therapy, and respond to codes per the plan of care.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED or Associate Degree in Science, Kentucky Respiratory Therapist licensure, current RRT credential, and BLS certification. Three or more years of CP services experience are preferred.

Position Summary:

Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.

Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.

Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.

Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.

Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.

Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.

Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma/GE or Associate Degree in Science required

Required Licenses: Current Respiratory Therapist Licensure to practice in the state of Kentucky; Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire date.

Minimum Work Experience

Three or more years of previous experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services preferred.
