Job summary

Medical City Dallas is hiring a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) PRN to support patient care across care settings. You will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, manage ventilation and airway support, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to deliver evidence-based treatment.

Qualifications

• NBRC-RRT certification required in good standing.
• RRT/RCP-State licensure or practitioner certification.
• Basic Life Support certification required or instructor credential.

Responsibilities

• Assessing respiratory status by performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds, airway patency, and determining the need for interventions.
• Delivering evidence-based therapy, including oxygen, aerosolized medications, airway clearance, and other treatments.
• Managing ventilation and airways, assisting with artificial airway placement and initiating invasive/noninvasive ventilation.
• Supporting patients and care teams, educating patients and families, partnering with physicians and nurses.
• Maintaining equipment and safety, setting up and cleaning respiratory equipment and ensuring readiness and infection-prevention standards.

Your role will include:

• Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.
• Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.
• Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.
• Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor Required
