Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide skilled respiratory care and diagnostics under the guidance of the Medical Director and department supervisors. The role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care across the acute care setting in Palmdale, CA.

Candidates must hold a California Respiratory Care Practitioner license, current BLS and PALS, and CPI within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Hold a California Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) and PALS training.
• NRP is preferred.
• CPI required within 30 days of hire.
• One year of previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
• General education level; 1–2 years post-secondary in RT.

Position Description

Under the direction of the Medical Director, Director of Respiratory Therapy, and Respiratory Supervisors (and/or designated charge person as indicated). A Respiratory Therapist is responsible to give skilled respiratory care and diagnostics according to the individual patient’s needs guided by policies and procedure.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE

• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) training and PALS.
• NRP Preferred
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
• One (1) year previous experience preferred.
• General education level (high school). One or 2 years post-secondary education program specializing in Respiratory Therapy.
• Written and verbal communications, interpersonal skills.
• Basic organizational and computer skills.
