Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to guide patients through routine care and critical moments, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with invasive and noninvasive ventilation.

Qualifications

• RRT/RCP-State licensure as Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner.
• NBRC-RRT certification or PFT technologist designation.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status by focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, determining need for respiratory interventions.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy with oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Manage ventilation and airways by assisting with artificial airway placement, initiating and adjusting invasive/noninvasive ventilation, monitoring responses, and responding to emergencies.
• Educate patients and families, serve as a clinical resource, partner with physicians and nurses, and assist with newborn stabilization during deliveries when needed.
• Maintain equipment and safety by setting up, operating, cleaning, ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance, transporting ventilated patients safely, and following infection prevention standards.
