Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver skilled respiratory care and diagnostics under the direction of the Medical Director and Respiratory Therapy leadership.

The ideal candidate holds a California Respiratory Care Practitioner license, current BLS and PALS, and is prepared to complete CPI within 30 days; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Current BLS and PALS certification.
• NRP preferred.
• CPI due within 30 days of hire.
• 1 year experience preferred.
• High school with 1–2 years post-secondary in Respiratory Therapy.
• Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic organizational and computer skills.

Position Description

Under the direction of the Medical Director, Director of Respiratory Therapy, and Respiratory Supervisors (and/or designated charge person as indicated). A Respiratory Therapist is responsible to give skilled respiratory care and diagnostics according to the individual patient’s needs guided by policies and procedure.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) training and PALS.
• NRP Preferred
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
• One (1) year previous experience preferred.
• General education level (high school). One or 2 years post-secondary education program specializing in Respiratory Therapy.
• Written and verbal communications, interpersonal skills.
• Basic organizational and computer skills.
