Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, CA, seeks a Respiratory Therapist to deliver skilled respiratory care and diagnostics under supervision. You will follow established policies and procedures to meet each patient’s needs in a high-quality, neighbor-friendly hospital setting.

The role requires a CA Respiratory Care Practitioner license, BLS, and PALS, with NRP preferred and CPI within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• BLS and PALS certifications.
• NRP Preferred.
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
• One year of prior respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• General education level with high school plus 1–2 years post-secondary education in Respiratory Therapy.
• Written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills.
• Basic organizational and computer skills.

Position Description

Under the direction of the Medical Director, Director of Respiratory Therapy, and Respiratory Supervisors (and/or designated charge person as indicated). A Respiratory Therapist is responsible to give skilled respiratory care and diagnostics according to the individual patient's needs guided by policies and procedure.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) training and PALS.
• NRP Preferred
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
• One (1) year previous experience preferred.
• General education level (high school). One or 2 years post-secondary education program specializing in Respiratory Therapy.
• Written and verbal communications, interpersonal skills.
• Basic organizational and computer skills.
