Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a Respiratory Care Professional to deliver respiratory care services in accordance with physician orders and department policies. The role requires coordination with the multidisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and outcomes.

Strong communication with patients and staff, leadership in workflow, and commitment to high-quality respiratory care are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in respiratory care or closely related field.
• Licensure as RRT and RCP (State of Illinois).
• Certification in CPR; NRP-MHC.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient outcomes and adjusts plan of care within the multidisciplinary team.
• Provides explanation/instructions to patients and/or responsible persons and ensures understanding regarding respiratory disease processes, intervention procedures and discharge.
• Accepts reassignment to other units when necessary.
• Shares clinical knowledge with staff and students and is a role model for clinical practice.
• Plans, implements and evaluates the effectiveness of respiratory care.
• Provides respiratory care as ordered by physician keeping in communication with medical and nursing staff.
• Leads workflow to utilize personnel efficiently.
• Assist with orientation of new employees/students and daily operations of the department.

Compensation

Compensation (Commensurate with experience): $28.8 To $44.64
