Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a high‑acuity, critical care team. You will administer therapies, manage ventilation systems, and perform pulmonary diagnostics, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner license required or eligibility for Illinois licensure.
• NBRC RRT certification or eligible within 3 months of hire.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications required or obtained upon hire.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosols, airway management).
• Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high‑flow systems.
• Perform pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs).
• Develop and implement patient‑specific respiratory care plans.
• Document care in the EMR and participate in rapid response events.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
• May serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts.

Overview

Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Relocation Assistance: Available for candidates relocating from outside the state of Illinois.

Salary Range: $1,332 – $1,792.80 per week (base gross), based on a 36-hour (3x12-hour) schedule; equivalent to $37.00 – $49.80 per hour.

Relocation bonus, up to $10,000 OR Sign on bonus available!

Responsibilities

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
