The position emphasizes performing technical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring patient flow, utilizing hospital systems, and contributing to quality control and performance improvement as part of a multidisciplinary team.

In collaboration with other caregivers, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates action for respiratory care. Performs all technical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory care. Performs other core responsibilities to maintain the flow of patient care. May provide additional patient care within their scope of practice as permitted by licensure, certificate or training. Utilizes computer systems in performing position duties. Adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Participates in quality control, preventative maintenance and performance improvement activities.
