Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to provide consultation for the facility. The Registered Respiratory Therapist shall provide the services of a qualified therapeutic respiratory technician. The sole responsibility of the Registered Respiratory Therapist shall be to provide guidance and counsel to the facility’s respiratory services program.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide consultation to the administration and staff regarding planning, policy, development and priority-setting based on initial and ongoing evaluations of the respiratory service needs.
• Provide respiratory therapy consultation to any resident in the facility in accordance with physician’s orders.
• Counsel the patient, staff and family with regards to the patient’s respiratory therapy needs.
• Make appropriate referrals for continuing respiratory care.
• Review sanitation in accordance with current standards.

Other Job Functions

• Travel to all facility locations as required.
• Attend staff meetings or other company-sponsored or mandated meetings as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist by the State of Texas, required.
• Current BLS certification, required.
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience, required.
• Critical Care or ER experience, preferred.
• Experience writing policies and procedures, preferred.
• Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication.
• Pennsylvania candidates: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) and Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date.
