Job summary

Forrest City Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to collaborate with the medical team and deliver comprehensive respiratory care. You will set up and manage ventilator and Bipap support, perform blood gas analysis, and assist with intubations and aerosol therapies.

Additional responsibilities include conducting pulmonary function and stress tests, EKGs for walk-in patients, and educating patients on incentive spirometry. Arkansas licensure and NBRC credential are required.

Qualifications

• Active Arkansas license required.
• NBRC credential required.
• RRT preferred.
• BLS certification upon hire.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• PALS within 90 days of hire.
• NRP within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other team members of the medical team to define and execute best plan of care for a patient.
• Set up, manage, and maintain ventilator support for patients.
• Set up, manage, and maintain Bipap support for patients.
• Set up, manage, and maintain low flow and high flow systems.
• Draw, analyze, and interpret blood gases.
• Assist in intubations.
• Administer aerosol treatments.
• Suction patients, as needed.
• Perform EKG's.
• CPT therapy.
• Set up and educate patient on Incentive Spirometry.
• Administer Pulmonary Function Testing.
• Administer Stress Testing.
• Perform EKG's on walk-in pts.
• Perform walk - in ABG's.
• Set up and apply Holter Monitors.
• Administer sputum inductions.

Qualifications

• Active license through the state of Arkansas.
• NBRC (National Board of Respiratory Care) credential required.
• RRT preferred.
• Utilize professional judgement and rely on experience to execute the best level of care.
• BLS certification upon hire.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• PALS certification within 90 days of hire.
• NRP certification within one year of hire.
