Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Birmingham is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for PRN night shifts at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. The role includes evaluating patients, delivering respiratory care, and supporting ICU-level care with endotracheal management as needed.

The position requires NBRC-accepted CRT or RRT, current state licensure, and BLS; ACLS is required on hire. Part-time/per diem options offer 401k eligibility after 1,000 hours.

Qualifications

• Must possess Active CRT or RRT credential from NBRC or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation: college transcript/diploma or HS transcript/diploma or GED.
• BLS certification required by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and recommending an appropriate treatment plan.
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients/families.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule: PRN Nightshift - 6:30 pm to 7:00 am

Compensation: $35.00 per hour

Minimum requirements:

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift)

Preferred qualifications:

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
