Job summary

Lincare seeks a Respiratory Therapist / Nurse to join our field team delivering home medical equipment and education to patients. You will set up CPAP/BiPAP, ventilators, nebulizers, and oxygen systems, ensure safe operation, and train patients on proper use.

The role requires licensed CRT or RRT, a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain patient records.

Qualifications

• CRTs or RRTs must be licensed/registered per state or national board
• Must maintain active certification and licensure; other clinicians may qualify per state rules
• Must have reliable personal vehicle to visit patients; mileage reimbursement provided
• Must maintain valid driver’s license and auto insurance in home state
• In-depth knowledge of pulmonary function and rehab concepts
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literacy with MS Office applications

Responsibilities

• Set up and educate on home medical equipment (CPAP/BiPAP, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, ventilators)
• Inspect, test, and adjust equipment for safe operation
• Review prescriptions and patient data to determine appropriate treatment
• Maintain patient records in compliance with accreditation standards
• Stay current on pulmonary function and rehabilitation techniques
• Work on-call after hours and weekends as needed; schedule depends on center size

Job description

Lincare is currently seeking aRespiratory Therapist / Nurseto join a growing team. This employee is responsible for the setup of home medical equipment, including ventilators, monitors, CPAP/BiPAP units, and/or other related equipment. The employee will also educate and train patients on the proper usage of prescribed equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and provide education on home medical equipment that includes, but is not limited to CPAP/BiPAP machines, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, and/or mechanical ventilators
• Inspect, test, and adjust home medical equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently
• Review prescription and patient information to assess condition and determine suitable treatment administration, compatible with physician orders
• Maintain patient records in a complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards
• Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Work on-call after hours and weekends as needed
  • Frequency is determined by center size and number of employees available to share

Qualifications

• In all states CRTs and RRTs are qualified for this position
  • Subject to state law/regulation, RNs, LPNs, LVNs, paramedics, EMTs, and other clinicians may also be qualified for this position
• Must remain certified, registered, or licensed by the applicable state and/or national board governing clinical practice or as otherwise permitted by law
• Must have reliable personal vehicle to visit patients throughout assigned territory

• Must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance in state of residence, per company policy
• In-depth knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Physical Demands

• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
