Description

This position is for a NBRC credentialed professional who provides respiratory care to patients in accordance with AdaptHealth's policies and procedures. The care will be preventative, rehabilitative, and palliative. The Respiratory Therapist will utilize all available resources within the agency and community to accomplish care objectives.

Job Duties

• Complete documentation and charting procedures in compliance with ACHC and company policies.
• Review and update Plan of Treatments and Care Plans.
• Document procedures, patient tolerance, side effects, and other pertinent information.
• Assist with authorization for CPAP/BiPAP referrals.
• Demonstrate knowledge of respiratory equipment and clinical skills.
• Troubleshoot equipment effectively in the field.
• Maintain inventory of CPAP/BiPAP supplies.
• Perform clinical assessments and participate in discharge planning.
• Report assessment results and recommendations to physicians.
• Conduct in-services and follow up with physicians and referrals.
• Adhere to PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials procedures.
• Assume on-call responsibilities as per company policy.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Competency, Skills, and Abilities

• Competent in PAP, Ventilator, Airway Clearance, and Oxygen therapy management.
• Ability to perform clinical assessments and recommend treatments.
• Equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Strong decision-making, analytical, and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Minimum Requirements

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• Valid and unrestricted RT license in all serviced states, or an Associate degree in Nursing with LPN or RN license.
• CPR certification.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience as a Healthcare RT, HME RT, or clinical nursing with Vent experience.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
