Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited program for Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current license in Georgia as a Respiratory Care Professional.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year of employment.
  • Maintain minimum CEUs per year.
  • Attend staff meetings and orientation requirements.

  • Document, measure, and retrieve healthcare data; oversee respiratory care by unlicensed personnel.
  • Educate patients and families; consult and coordinate care with team members.

Job description

  • Perform the respiratory care process across the continuum and deliver age-appropriate, developmentally appropriate, patient- and family-centered care
  • Integrate patient values and language preferences into healthcare delivery
  • Use clinical decision-support tools to recognize issues, prioritize care, and modify care plans
  • Document, measure, and retrieve healthcare data
  • Provide oversight for respiratory care delivered by unlicensed personnel
  • Educate patients and families
  • Consult, contribute to, and coordinate care with interdisciplinary healthcare team members

Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Respiratory Therapy
  • Current license in the state of Georgia as a Respiratory Care Professional
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year of employment
  • No minimum experience required
  • Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy preferred
  • Maintain minimum of 15 continuing education units (CEUs)/education hours per year
  • Achieve 75% attendance at staff meetings as applicable
  • Successfully complete unit/department-specific orientation
  • Complete mandatory education requirements by the due date
