Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Respiratory Intern to gain clinical experience during an accredited respiratory care program. The intern will perform basic respiratory procedures under the direct supervision of licensed staff and strive to meet state-credentialed standards.

Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program, in good standing, with at least one clinical rotation completed, and must have Basic Life Support certification. No prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Degrees/certifications required: High School, GED, certificate, training, or equivalent.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Enrollment in accredited respiratory therapy program, in good standing, with at least one clinical rotation completed.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic respiratory procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist.
• Adhere to required standards of respiratory care and promote teamwork among coworkers.

Description

The Respiratory Intern acquires additional knowledge and clinical experience before completing his/her education in a CoARC-approved respiratory care program. The Respiratory Intern performs basic respiratory procedures under the direct supervision of the State of Florida licensed staff respiratory therapist. The procedures performed will be equivalent to the current level of required skills in their clinical rotation. The Respiratory Intern is responsible for adhering to all required standards of respiratory care and promoting teamwork among co‑workers.

Qualifications

Degrees:

• High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Basic Life Support.

Additional Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program, in good standing, completed at least one clinical rotation and, within 15 months of completing a certified, and or registered respiratory therapy program.
