Job summary

Kettering Health Hamilton is seeking a Respiratory Therapist III to provide comprehensive respiratory care across the lifespan. The role emphasizes assessment, treatment, and education to support recovery and health optimization.

Must hold an Ohio RCP license and NBRC RRT credential, with BLS and ACLS to be obtained within 30 days of hire; Bachelor's degree is preferred for advancement. This position is full-time and on site in Hamilton, OH.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent as required by Ohio law.
• Clinical rotations completed as part of accredited program; entry-level acceptable.
• Current and valid license as an RCP in Ohio.
• RRT credential from NBRC.
• BLS and ACLS certifications by American Heart Association to be obtained prior to or within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities & Requirements

• The Respiratory Therapist III provides assessment, treatment, and care for patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders across the lifespan.
• This role delivers therapeutic interventions, conducts diagnostic testing, and educates patients and families to support optimal respiratory health and recovery.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.
• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or equivalent as required by Ohio law.
• Completion of clinical rotations as part of an accredited respiratory therapy program; no additional experience required for entry-level roles.
• Current and valid license as a Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) issued by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification by the American Heart Association, to be obtained prior to or within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field. One or more years of experience as a licensed Respiratory Therapist in an acute care or critical care setting. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
