Job summary

Shriners Children's Hospital in Portland, OR is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist II to provide family-centered, age-appropriate cardio-pulmonary care from admission through discharge. You will assess patient needs, communicate findings in writing and verbally, and act as a clinical resource to other departments.

Required qualifications include an Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy, valid state RT license, NBRC registration, BLS and PALS. ICU experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy and an active RT license in the state of practice.
• National registration with the National Board for Respiratory Therapy.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• PALS certification required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Provided primary respiratory care to patients from admission through discharge, and charts appropriately.
• Serves as a resource and provides education to students, interns, residents, nurses, and new employees as needed.
• Assures safe, cost-effective operation and function of pertinent equipment and utilizes infection control techniques.
• Seeks personal, professional development and accountability.
• Demonstrates the ability to interact and communicate with staff, patients, families, and visitors.
• Understands and applies hospital/departmental policies to daily patient care.
