Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide cardiopulmonary care across ED, Trauma and Critical Care areas. You will respond to codes, assess patients, deliver therapies, monitor status, and educate families while ensuring quality and compliance with policies.

Requires graduation from an accredited program, Florida RT license or TT, BLS, and NBRC credentialing with additional credentials (NRP/PALS/ACLS) preferred for NICU/Adult areas.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and licensed as RT or TT in Florida.
• BLS certification and NBRC credentials preferred; NRP/PALS/ACLS for specialty areas.
• Ability to work in ED, Trauma and Critical Care with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Respond to codes and emergent calls with appropriate therapy.
• Assess patient condition and deliver planned respiratory care.
• Educate patient and family about illness and resources.
• Monitor and document patient status and outcomes.

Patients depend on our team for the best in evidence-based care and innovative therapies, such as inhaled nitric oxide, high-frequency oscillation, and invasive and non-invasive ventilator support modalities. Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma and Critical Care.

Summary:

Provides care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

Responsibilities:

Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.

Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition.

Educates the patient and family about the patient’s illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.

Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
