UnityPoint Health in Cedar Rapids, IA is hiring for a Respiratory Therapy role in Home Medical Equipment (HME). The position involves educating patients on safe respiratory equipment use, setting up care per physician orders, and ensuring high-quality, safe service delivery.

The role supports patients with pulmonary conditions and requires NBRC certification, state licensure, and a CoARC-approved respiratory care program.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required.
• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program required.
• Current licensure to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in State(s) of Practice required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and provide education/instruction on safe use of Respiratory equipment according to physician prescription and patient evaluation.
• Responsible for setup documentation and patient follow up as necessary.
• Ensures quality and safe delivery of services to patients according to plan of care; uses equipment and supplies safely, effectively, and efficiently.
• Maintain a patient-centered approach considering physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, and safety needs.
• Develops expertise by maintaining knowledge of third-party coverage.

Qualifications

Education
