Job summary

Virtua Health in Mount Holly, NJ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to manage patients with cardio-respiratory deficiencies, assess needs, develop care plans, and deliver treatments in collaboration with the care team.

This full-time night shift role offers a 12-hour shift (36 hours weekly) with a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities within a Magnet-recognized health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved program of study in Respiratory Care with a high school diploma.
• Registered or Registry Eligible as a Respiratory Therapist per NBRC.
• BLS credential.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the NJ State Board.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessment of patients and develops their respiratory plan of care.
• Administers treatments/medications as prescribed by the physician.
• Demonstrates competency in invasive and non‑invasive ventilator care.
• Demonstrates competency in the Blood Gas Laboratory.
• Educates patients and families about disease processes, treatments, and wellness.
• Sets up, operates, and maintains medical gas and humidification systems.

Summary

Responsible for the treatment, care, and management of patients with deficiencies and/or abnormalities of the cardio‑respiratory system.

Acts as clinical resource in all areas of patient care and, further, contributes to the overall quality of patient care.

Position Responsibilities

• Performs assessment of patients and develops their respiratory plan of care.


• Administers treatments/medications as prescribed by the physician.


• Demonstrates competency in all aspects of invasive and non‑invasive ventilator care.


• Demonstrates competency in all aspects of the Blood Gas Laboratory.


• Teaches and reinforces education on disease process, treatment, and wellness to patient and/or family and the community at large.


• Set-up, operate, and maintain medical gas and airway humidification systems.


• Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to interact/interface with varying computer information management systems in order to document patient care related activities.

Required Education

Graduate of an AMA approved program of study in Respiratory Care with a high school diploma.

Training/Certifications/Licensure

Registered or Registry Eligible as a Respiratory Therapist as determined by the National Board for Respiratory Care.

BLS credential.

Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the New Jersey State Board of Respiratory Care.

Hourly Rate: $36.14 - $56.23The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
