Job summary

Union General Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for PRN positions in Blairsville, GA. The therapist will provide assessment, treatment, and management of patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies. Candidates must hold a Georgia license and are preferred to have an Associates or Bachelor’s degree.

Experience in a hospital setting is desirable. Responsibilities include consulting with physicians and providing direction to medical staff. This position requires strong leadership and independent working skills.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Georgia license as a Respiratory Care Professional.
• Current CPR card required or must obtain within 60 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• NRP certification strongly recommended.
• At least two years of experience in a hospital or medical related environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of patients.

DESCRIPTION

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing care which includes assessment, treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. Consults with Physicians. Provides consultation, instruction, and/or technical direction of medical, nursing, and other staff members regarding matters within their scope of practice.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: HS Diploma or GED - Associates or Bachelors degree preferred

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Must possess a Georgia license as a Respiratory Care Professional. Must maintain a current CPR card or obtain with 60 days of hire. ACLS, PALS certification or obtain within 90 days of hire, NRP is strongly recommended

EXPERIENCE: Desirable characteristics include at least two years experience in a hospital or medical related environment

Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Must be able to lead by example, counsel employees when necessary and administer disciplinary actions when appropriate

Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress
