Job summary

Centerpoint Health-Winchester is hiring a Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a full-time day shift. You will measure lung capacity, perform bedside tests, deliver and adjust therapy, and monitor patient responses to care to ensure optimal outcomes.

The role includes participating in safety protocols, staff education, and continuous quality improvement, with comprehensive benefits and on-site parking. You will contribute to a compassionate, patient-centered hospital culture.

Qualifications

• Licensed CRT or RRT in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred.
• Associate's degree in respiratory therapy required.

Responsibilities

• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples; performs bedside PFTs, EKGs, and tobacco cessation education as ordered.
• Delivers and evaluates patient response to therapy; monitors and communicates patient condition.
• Responds to codes and emergent calls for respiratory assistance; provides rapid assessment and intervention.
• Educates patients and families about illness management and resources.
• Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes and best practices.
• Stocks and distributes respiratory care supplies and maintains storage areas.
• Cleans, sterilizes, maintains, and calibrates equipment.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.

How you'll contribute

A respiratory therapist (CRT) who excels in this role:

• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. Performs bedside PFTs, EKGs, and tobacco cessation education as ordered.
• Delivers and evaluates patient response to therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition appropriately.
• Responds to codes and emergent calls for respiratory assistance. Provides rapid assessment and appropriate intervention.
• Educates patients and families about illness management and community resources.
• Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices.
• Stocks and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintains storage areas with required levels and equipment.
• Cleans, sterilizes, maintains, and calibrates equipment.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current associate's degree in respiratory required. Additional requirements include:
