Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist CRT to provide cardiopulmonary care per physician orders and department procedures. You will perform diagnostic tests, administer respiratory therapies, monitor patient responses, and maintain therapy equipment.

The role emphasizes accurate assessment, documentation, and collaboration with the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a high-volume hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Formal Respiratory Therapist education with clinical training.
• CRT or RRT certification required or in-state equivalent.
• One year of experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess prescribed respiratory therapy per care plan.
• Utilize respiratory equipment and administer gases and aerosol meds.
• Measure ventilatory volumes, pressures and blood gas analysis.
• Monitor patient status and document progress.
• Set up, operate, clean, sterilize and store respiratory therapy equipment.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing Cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician orders, department policies and procedures. The Respiratory Therapist administers respiratory care and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system, performs diagnostic tests of the cardiovascular and pulmonary system to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung disorders.

What you will do in this role:

• You will deliver and assess responses to ordered therapy per plan of care including routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures.
• You will utilize various types of oxygen and other therapeutic gas equipment such as masks, tents and incubators.
• You will administer prescribed doses of medicinal gases and aerosol drugs.
• You will measure ventilatory volumes, pressures and blood gas analysis.
• You will monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and general acceptance of treatment.
• You will perform a variety of duties related to setting up, operating, cleaning, sterilizing, and storing respiratory therapy equipment.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Associate Degree
• (CRT-State) Certified Respiratory Therapist, or (NBRC-CRT) Certified Respiratory Therapist, or (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
• One year of experience strongly preferred.
