Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Jersey City is seeking a Part-Time Respiratory Therapist to join the Respiratory Care team at Jersey City Medical Center.

The role provides basic and advanced respiratory therapies, ventilator support, and coordinating with physicians and nurses to deliver high-quality patient care. Applicants must have NBRC approval and NJ license, CRT or RRT, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of NBRC-approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through NBRC.
• Current New Jersey State Respiratory Care License.
• Successful completion of orientation and onboarding programs.
• Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and advanced respiratory therapy procedures within scope of respiratory patient care services.
• Assess patients and provide respiratory treatments based on physician orders and protocols.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately.
• Administer oxygen therapy and monitor patient response.
• Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify changes in patient condition and adjust care.
• Manage and monitor patients requiring ventilator support.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
• Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in EMR.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through NBRC

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Current New Jersey State Respiratory Care License.
• Successful completion of all required orientation and onboarding programs.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain per organizational requirements).
