Job summary

Essentia Health seeks a dedicated Respiratory Care Specialist to provide comprehensive respiratory care from assessment to education for patients from infant to adult. Responsibilities include ventilator management, arterial blood gas sampling, airway care, and education in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role is based at St Josephs Medical Center with a 0.9 FTE schedule and rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights) including weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care/therapy program.

• Performs general and critical care respiratory care procedures and diagnostics on patients from infant to adult, including mechanical ventilation, airway management, critical care transport, arterial blood gas puncture, and medication delivery.

Education Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care/therapy program

Licensure/Certification Qualifications

• Must hold state licensure in appropriate state of practice upon hire or have applied and are waiting for state licensure in appropriate state of practice to award licensure not to exceed 30 days from date of hire
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 1 month of hire
