Job summary

University of Maryland Faculty Physicians is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform pediatric pulmonary function testing and contribute to diagnostic assessments. You will follow a schedule approved by the Division Head of Pediatric Pulmonary and Allergy, and work under faculty supervision to ensure high-quality care.

Responsibilities include clinical testing, maintaining equipment and gases, and participating in mandatory annual competencies and additional training as required by leadership.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Maryland Respiratory Therapy Practitioner License required.
• CRTT or RRT credential in Respiratory Therapy.
• Clinical experience in adult and pediatric respiratory care.
• Pulmonary Functions Testing training or experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform Pulmonary Functions testing for pediatric patients.
• Provide testing according to the schedule approved by the Division Head.
• Analyze a patient’s ability to complete testing and tolerance of the process.
• Maintain all clinical testing equipment and medical gases in compliance with standards.
• Participate in education and mandatory competencies and training.

Job description

This position will provide Pulmonary Functions testing to Pediatric patients for the determination of lung disease. They will provide this testing in keeping with a schedule that is developed and approved by the Division Head of Pediatric Pulmonary and Allergy. Testing will be provided under the direction of the Pediatric Pulmonary & Allergy Division Head and faculty. The position will provide primary comprehensive analysis of a patient’s ability to complete Pulmonary Functions Testing and tolerance of the testing process. The position will maintain all clinical testing equipment and medical gases in keeping with all legal and regulatory standards.

The position will participate in all education and training for the clinical scope of service and FPI’s mandatory annual competencies and any other training deemed necessary to maintain quality and standards by the Division Head and/or Division Administrator.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program
• Must possess a Maryland Respiratory Therapy Practitioner License
• Possess CRTT or RRT credential in Respiratory Therapy
• Clinical experience in adult and pediatric respiratory care
• Pulmonary Functions Testing training or experience

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
