Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist 2 to administer pharmacological and diagnostic respiratory care per physician orders. You will assess, monitor, and implement treatments, document findings, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include ABG testing, ventilation management, medication administration, safety adherence, and continuous process improvements in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Formación

• Associate degree in respiratory therapy required.
• Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist (RT/CRT) license in Florida or Compact State.
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications in good standing.

Responsabilidades

• Follow respiratory protocols and maintain competency with ventilation equipment.
• Administer medications safely, following policies, and document appropriately.
• Clean and sterilize respiratory equipment and set up treatments per orders.
• Monitor mechanical ventilation and environmental systems.
• Demonstrate sound judgment in crisis management and emergency care.
• Contribute to process improvements and perform additional duties as needed.

Description

Responsible for the administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, pulmonary rehabilitative, or diagnostic regime prescribed by a physician. The transcription and implementation of the written or verbal orders of a physician pertaining to the practice of respiratory care. Proper assessment, observation and monitoring of signs and symptoms, general behavior, and general physical response to respiratory care treatments and diagnostic testing. Recommend and implement appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities. Implement changes in treatment pursuant to the written or verbal orders of a physician. The ability to assess and initiate emergency procedures. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery to achieve desired patient outcomes. Performs all other duties required.

Education

• Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy

License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State

• Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist

Certifications

• Advanced Life Support (ACLS)- American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)
• Pediatric Life Support (PALS)- American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)

Work Experience

• 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required
