Job summary

PromptCare seeks a Respiratory Therapist to set up home-care therapies, including high-tech ventilation and oxygen, in patients' homes. This field-based role supports 24/7 care with leadership responsibilities and coordination with the department Manager.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited respiratory school, NJ-licensed RTs with an active RRT credential, CPR/BLS, and at least 1 year of RT experience, with cross-state licensing capability supported by the company.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory school.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner state licensure in NJ and in good standing.
• Willing to get cross-licensed in other states at company’s expense.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing.
• At least 1 year experience as a working Respiratory Therapist.
• RRT certification required.
• Current CPR-BLS certification required.
• Adequate PC skills to use e-mail and update notes electronically.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients and family members with timely information and takes appropriate corrective actions regarding services to ensure satisfaction.
• Initiates and develops good working relationships with patients, family members and referral sources.
• Plans daily events to optimize time management and reduce travel time.
• Assists with scheduling set ups and follow up visits according to policy.
• Coordinates patient discharges with RT Clinical Liaisons.
• Maintains proper documentation of patient concerns and corrective actions.
• Ensures SOP adherence and compliance with laws and regulations.
• Delivers high quality, “white glove” service to patients and families.
• On-call responsibilities as needed.

Description

As a Respiratory Therapist you will be responsible for the set-up of related products for patients in the home setting, including therapeutics, diagnostics, high tech ventilation, oxygen, and other miscellaneous respiratory equipment. This is a field-based, hands-on respiratory therapist/leadership position that requires a candidate with the drive and skill to be a respiratory caregiver, patient advocate, and positive representative of PromptCare. This responsibility extends to a 24-hour basis in coordination with the department Manager. It also extends on a 24-hour / 7-day basis in accordance with the nature of care which PromptCare provides.

Job Type: Non-Exempt, Full/Time, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri with on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory School
• Must have current Respiratory Care Practitioner state licensure in the state inquiring employment and in good standing
• Must be willing to get cross-licensed in other states at the company’s expense
• Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing
• At least 1 year experience as a working Respiratory Therapist is required
• Experience in the home care setting is highly desirable
• RRT certification required
• Current CPR- BLS certification required
• Must have adequate PC skills to use e-mail and update notes and other documentation electronically in a timely manner

Job Responsibilities, Included But Not Limited To

• Provides patients and family members with timely and accurate information and takes appropriate corrective actions regarding our services to ensure complete satisfaction
• Ability to initiate and develop good working relationships with patients, family members and referral sources is essential
• Ensures that the team plans daily events so as to be as efficient as possible with time management (e.g., minimizes travel time by planning routes ahead of time)
• Assists with the proper scheduling of set ups and follow up visits according to company policies and standards
• Works closely with the RT Clinical Liaisons in coordinating patient discharges
• Ability to properly triage problems in the field in accordance with company standards and other verbal and written training policies
• Ensures that the team follows proper procedures for accurate and timely documentation of patient concerns, and most importantly, takes appropriate corrective actions
• Maintains strong knowledge of PromptCare’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures that they are applied consistently
• Ensures that the team maintains compliance to all applicable laws, regulations and SOPs at all times
• Fosters a culture wherein the team conducts activities with a mindset of delivering “white glove” service to the patients and family members
• Submits expense reports for travel at least once monthly and in a timely manner
• On-call responsibilities as needed
• Other Duties as assigned
