Overview
Assist patients of all ages who suffer from pulmonary (breathing) disorders. In addition to analyzing and performing diagnostic testing, Respiratory Therapists perform relevant exams and control patients' blood-oxygen levels, as well as set up and utilize Respiratory care equipment and machines needed to assist or monitor the patients breathing.
Responsibilities
- Perform Respiratory care modalities on patients.
- Document all Respiratory care delivered.
- Provide patient education.
- Maintain and manage department ventilators.
- Participate in arterial procedures designed to analyze arterial blood gases.
Requirements
- Graduation from an AMA or JRCRTE approved program
- Must be licensed in the state of Illinois.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers - CPR/AHA certification required. CRT Required. Preferred RRT
- NRP preferred.
- Experience in all modalities of Respiratory care through clinical application.
