Job summary

University Health in San Antonio is seeking a Staff Therapist Level I to provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult patients. You will follow physician directives and perform related duties promptly and proficiently, while adhering to departmental policies. A strong emphasis on professional relations with colleagues and patients is required.

The role requires NBRC RRT, Texas license, and BLS certification; ACLS is preferred, with instructor BLS acceptable in lieu of BLS when necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred; NBRC RRT credential and Texas RCP license required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Instructor certifications for BLS acceptable in lieu of BLS.

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff Therapist level I provides full range of respiratory care to Adult patient populations as evidenced by the skill/competency assessment. Ensures the prompt and proficient provisions of respiratory related duties in accordance with physician directives. Complies with departmental and University Health System's policies and procedures and maintains good public and working relations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree preferred. Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license with the Texas State Board of Health required. Must be BLS certified. ACLS Preferred. Instructor certifications for BLS is acceptable in lieu of BLS.
