CommonSpirit Health's Dignity Health – Yavapai Regional Medical Center (DH-YRMC) in Prescott Valley is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to deliver specialized cardiopulmonary care across ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and related treatments.

You will join a team of RTs, develop care plans, perform assessments, and respond to routine and emergency needs with calm under pressure, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and quality care in a community hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and graduate of an AMA Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Must hold and maintain: AZ Board of Respiratory Care Examiners License; CRT from NBRC; ACLS; BLS for Healthcare Providers; PALS; NRP within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of basic respiratory care for all patient populations.
• Document complete patient assessments including vital signs, breath sounds, cough, and respiratory pattern with each ventilator system check and with each treatment.
• Check equipment and modalities, maintain alarms, and document accurately.
• Perform ABGs with two patient identifiers, handle blood specimens, report critical values, and maintain logs.
• Complete patient billing; accurately charge, label, scan, and discard medications.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team of RTs who share your passion for delivering highly specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. You'll be instrumental in providing a range of treatments from breathing techniques and nebulizer treatments to ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support.

Every day you will apply your keen assessment skills and critical thinking to manage diverse patient needs. You will be expected to develop and execute effective care plans, and ensure calm, focused intervention in both routine and emergent situations.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, unwavering calm under pressure, and the ability to anticipate outcomes. Your dedication to patient well-being and exceptional problem-solving abilities will drive success in this vital role.

• Performs a full range of basic respiratory care for all patient populations.
• Performs and documents a complete patient assessment, including (but not limited to) vital signs, breath sounds, cough, and respiratory pattern with each ventilator system check and with each treatment.
• Checks all equipment and respiratory modalities (including invasive and non-invasive), maintains alarms, and documents accurately and completely.
• Performs ABGs utilizing 2 patient identifiers, properly handles blood specimens, reports critical values, and maintains blood gas lab logs (where applicable).
• Accurately completes patient billing.
• Correctly charges, labels, scans, and discards medications.

Required

• High School Diploma/GED and Graduate of an AMA Respiratory Therapy Program
• Must hold and maintain:
  • AZ Board of Respiratory Care Examiners License;
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist-CRT from National Board of Respiratory Care;
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support;
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers; and
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • NRP within 90 days
