Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC)
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist in North Dakota
• BLS/CPR within 30 days of hire
• Official diploma or transcript from the school/university from where Degree was received.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory care treatments, therapies, and assessments per physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Conduct EKGs and pulmonary function tests with accurate data collection and proper equipment operation.
• Monitor patient responses to respiratory interventions and communicate significant findings to the care team.
• Document all assessments, treatments, and diagnostic procedures in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and other clinical staff to support coordinated patient care and respiratory management plans.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas ensuring readiness, safety, and infection-prevention standards.
• Adhere to PPE use, infection-prevention protocols, and safety procedures in fluctuating patient volumes.
• Cross-training to additional clinical functions as needed.

Position Summary:The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care services to patients across the Trinity Health Hospital Campus and Medical District, supporting the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of respiratory conditions. This role performs therapeutic interventions and diagnostic procedures, including EKGs and pulmonary function testing, while working in accordance with clinical protocols and provider orders. As part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary care team, the Therapist partners closely with nursing, physicians, and other clinical staff to deliver safe, coordinated, and effective patient care. The position functions within a supportive clinical environment that values adaptability, communication, and shared responsibility, including cross-training to additional clinical functions as needed. The therapist may encounter exposure to infectious diseases, respiratory irritants, bodily fluids, cleaning agents, and varying noise levels. The role requires strict adherence to PPE use, infection-prevention protocols, and safety procedures while managing fluctuating patient volumes and time-sensitive situations.
