Lahey Clinic is hiring a Part-time Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver essential respiratory care across age groups under physician orders. The role requires Massachusetts licensure and an accredited Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy. RRT is preferred; CRT may apply with a plan to obtain RRT within a year.

ACLS certification is required. Ideal candidates have prior staff-level critical care experience and strong interpersonal and communication skills, with solid computer proficiency

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Massachusetts license to practice respiratory care.
  • CRRT/RT credentials preferred; RRT required within one year if CRT qualified.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Experience in a staff respiratory therapy role with critical care focus preferred.

  • Work under physician orders and in accordance with department policies.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner performs respiratory care related duties to all age groups. The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for direct patient care within their scope of services in accordance with state licensure, and the Registration Board of Respiratory Care. The Respiratory Care Practitioner works under physician orders, follows departmental and Lahey Hospital & Medical Center policies. The Respiratory Care Practitioner utilizes a high level of critical thinking skills, must have the ability to apply the appropriate best-practice, be objective and receptive to others’ points of view with regard to patient care issues.Education:Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy from an Accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.Licensure, Certification, Registration:* Massachusetts License* Certified Respiratory Therapist – Registered Respiratory Therapist Preferred* Current ACLS certification* RRT is required, but can apply as CRT and must obtain RRT within a year.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Minimal Computer skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsWorking knowlegde of PC’s.Excellent Oral and Written Communication skills.Ability to impart specialized clinical and medical information to members of the health care team; physician, nurses Experience:Experience as a Staff Respiratory Therapist with a focus on critical care preferred **Pay Range:**$40.78 - $60.59The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
