Job summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist at Baylor Scott & White Health will work with a team at Scott and White Hospital in Marble Falls, TX, providing respiratory care, oxygen therapy, and patient stabilization during nights on a PRN schedule. You will collaborate with physicians, follow protocols, and demonstrate commitment to patient outcomes and continuous learning.

Prior certification requirements include BLS, Texas-registered RCP, and RRT eligibility.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 2 years of relevant experience beyond minimum.
• Experience in respiratory modalities and patient care.
• Ability to read and follow flow charts and protocols.
• Knowledge of infection control and HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform and direct respiratory care services including oxygen and aerosol therapy.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to administer care with quality.
• Maintain infection control and documentation compliance.
• Demonstrate professional growth and continuous quality improvement.
• Support continuous patient care improvements.

Job Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will work with a team in a culture of learning and advancement, using scientific values, therapies, and techniques to improve patient care and outcomes.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Performs and directs respiratory care services like oxygen and aerosol therapy. Works with the attending physician and care team. Administers care with quality and excellence, following procedures. Administers cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergencies.
• Adheres to established policies, including infection control, isolation, HIPAA, time and attendance, and social media.
• Performs willingly and professionally with peers and patients to maintain the very best work environment and outcomes.
• Embraces the autonomy to grow and enhance skills such that professional and technical requirements are accomplished.
• Focuses on continuous quality improvement in all aspects of clinical care. Identifies, executes, and shares opportunities to improve patient care.

Key Success Factors

• General knowledge of Respiratory Care modalities, therapies, equipment, and medications.
• Able to read, write and follow flow chart protocols as appropriate.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• General computer skills, including but not limited to: data entry, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand-held scanning, and email.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION - Associate's or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION

• Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS in 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP): Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
• Reg Respiratory Therapist (RRT): Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board Respiratory Care.
