Job summary

United Future in Ohio seeks a skilled Respiratory Therapist for the night shift. You will administer therapies, manage ventilators, and perform procedures across age groups, including emergency airway management and arterial blood gas analysis.

Role includes on-call and every 3rd weekend rotations. Qualifications include AMA-approved program graduation, CRT/RRT certified and Ohio license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP, and 3+ years of cardiopulmonary experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), licensed by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board.
• Current, active State of Ohio Respiratory Therapist License (required).
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
• 3+ years of experience in cardiopulmonary services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments across all patient age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric populations.
• Set up, manage, and monitor mechanical ventilators, including airway management and tracheal suctioning.
• Perform emergency intubation and airway management for patients of all ages.
• Maintain knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment; monitor for side effects.
• Perform arterial punctures for blood gas analysis and understand related complications.
• Perform EKGs and transmit reports to physicians per protocol.
• Inspect, test, and safely operate all respiratory therapy equipment.
• Assess patient status and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Document data in the PCN after services.
• Develop patient/family teaching plans and evaluate learning.
• Participate in on-call rotation and every 3rd weekend rotation.
• Attend staff meetings and mandatory in-services.

Compensation: $29 to $40/hour+ 25K SOB + Shift Differential

Job Type: Full-Time, 36 hrs/week | Every 3rd weekend rotation | 6:30 PM-7:00 AM

A community-focused hospital in Ohio is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join their Respiratory Care Services team on the night shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments across all patient age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric populations
• Set up, manage, and monitor mechanical ventilators, including all associated critical care duties (airway management, tracheal suctioning)
• Perform emergency intubation and airway management for patients of all ages
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment; monitor for potential side effects
• Perform arterial punctures for blood gas analysis; understand associated complications and contraindications
• Perform EKGs and transmit reports to ordering and attending physicians per department protocol
• Inspect, test, and safely operate all respiratory therapy equipment to ensure proper function
• Assess patient status, tolerance for treatment, and response; reassess and adjust care plans accordingly
• Document all pertinent data in the PCN following completion of services
• Develop patient and family teaching plans based on identified learning needs; evaluate learning effectiveness
• Participate in on-call rotation and every 3rd weekend rotation
• Participate in staff meetings, educational programs, QI activities, committees, and mandatory in-services
• Demonstrate initiative in personal and professional development; present a professional image at all times

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), licensed by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board
• Current, active State of Ohio Respiratory Therapist License (required)
• BLS certified; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• 3+ years of experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services preferred
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and documentation skills
• Physical stamina for an active clinical environment: walking, bending, stooping, and lifting up to ~50 lbs
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
