Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX, is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for Memorial Hospital. You will work with a care team to perform respiratory therapies and ensure high-quality patient care on a 12-hour shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree or higher in Respiratory Care; Texas licensure eligibility.
• Experience: Less than 1 year of relevant experience.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• RCP license by the Texas Medical Board; NBRC RRT certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory care services such as oxygen therapy and aerosol therapy with physician collaboration.
• Administers CPR in emergencies and adheres to infection control policies.
• Maintains professional demeanor and supports a positive work environment.
• Develops and shares opportunities to improve patient care and outcomes.
• Utilizes data entry and EMR systems to document care and orders.

Job Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will work with a team in a culture of learning and advancement, using scientific values, therapies, and techniques to improve patient care and outcomes.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Performs and directs respiratory care services like oxygen and aerosol therapy. Works with the attending physician and care team. Administers care with quality and excellence, following procedures. Administers cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergencies.
• Adheres to established policies, including infection control, isolation, HIPAA, time and attendance, and social media.
• Performs willingly and professionally with peers and patients to maintain the very best work environment and outcomes.
• Embraces the autonomy to grow and enhance skills such that professional and technical requirements are accomplished.
• Focuses on continuous quality improvement in all aspects of clinical care. Identifies, executes, and shares opportunities to improve patient care.

Key Success Factors

• General knowledge of Respiratory Care modalities, therapies, equipment, and medications.
• Able to read, write and follow flow chart protocols as appropriate.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• General computer skills, including but not limited to: data entry, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand-held scanning, and email.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION - Associate's or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION

• Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS in 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP): Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
• Reg Respiratory Therapist (RRT): Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board Respiratory Care.
