Rotech Healthcare Inc. is seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver in-home respiratory care. You will work with patients in their homes, managing ventilators and oxygen therapy while educating families and coordinating with physicians.

Qualifications

Respiratory Therapist or RN – Home Healthcare

Deliver Care Where It Matters Most – In the Patient’s Home

Rotech Healthcare Inc. is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. If you’re looking for a meaningful role that allows you to build relationships, provide hands-on care, and make a lasting impact in patients’ lives—all outside of a traditional clinical setting—this is the opportunity for you. In this role, you’ll provide in-home respiratory therapy and clinical support to patients using ventilators, oxygen therapy, and other advanced equipment. You’ll be part of a team that values autonomy, patient education, and personalized care. At this location, this position pays $36 to $40 per hour, depending on related experience, and is eligible for a bonus opportunity.

External candidates are eligible for a $2000 gross sign on bonus to be paid after 60 days and another $2000 after 180 days of continuous employment.

• Maintains a complete listing of all current respiratory patients
• Provides initial and ongoing phone contacts with all respiratory patients per Rotech policy and procedure
• Provides in-home visits to patients per Rotech’s policy and procedure
• Conducts patient assessment per Rotech’s policy and procedure and the physician’s order Patient assessment may include but is not limited to:
  • Verbal assessment (e.g., patient history, symptom review, etc.)
  • Physical assessment (e.g., lung auscultation, blood pressure, etc.)
  • Diagnostics (e.g., spirometry, oximetry, sleep studies)
• Provides patient education as applicable. Education may include but is not limited to:
  • Respiratory equipment use and maintenance
  • Physician’s prescription for equipment
  • Importance of compliance with physician’s prescription
  • Benefits of therapy
  • Potential consequences of noncompliance
  • Potential adverse reactions/side effects from therapy
• Sets up all highly technical respiratory equipment including but not limited to:
  • Invasive Ventilator
  • Noninvasive Ventilator
  • Infant Monitors
  • Other high-tech respiratory equipment as defined by scope of service at the branch (e.g., cough assist, negative pressure ventilation, IPPB, etc.)
• Monitors ongoing function of highly technical respiratory equipment including but not limited to:
  • Invasive Ventilator
  • Noninvasive Ventilator
  • Infant Monitors
  • Other high-tech respiratory equipment as defined by scope of service at the branch (e.g., cough assist, negative pressure ventilation, IPPB, etc.)
• Maintains documentation of all services provided and all work performed per Rotech’s policies and procedures
• Assumes on-call responsibilities for phone consultations during non-business hours as outlined by Rotech’s policy
• Adjusting ventilator settings according to patient assessment and in alignment with Rotech policy and procedures
• Supports orientation and training of other personnel at the direction of the Area Manager
• Performs other duties as required by state licensure law
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as defined by the Area Manager

Required Education and/or Experience

• Candidates may qualify through a combination of education, training, and relevant work experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
• Any education requirements mandated by applicable federal, state, or local law, regulation, licensing requirement, or customer contract.
• Active licensure in your primary state of residence as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) or other acceptable medical credential (e.g., RC, RN) based on state licensure laws
• Willingness to obtain licensure in neighboring states if required by service area

Preferred Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferrred
• Completion of an accredited program in respiratory care, nursing, or a related paramedical field
• Experience in home respiratory care or home healthcare
• Degree in respiratory therapy or a related science
• At least one year of relevant clinical experience
• Familiarity with medical terminology

• Ability to interpret and respond to various forms of communication (verbal, written, visual)
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Technical Proficiency

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Comfortable with email communication, internet research, and using office equipment (fax, copier, printer, phone, computer/tablet)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and transport patient equipment (minimum 65 lbs)
• Regular contact with patients and equipment may involve exposure to contagious pathogens
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, and listen for extended periods
• Requires close vision for reading small print on screens and paperwork
• Must comply with Rotech’s Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy, including:
  • Medical evaluation and fit testing
  • Annual recertification
  • Maintaining a clean-shaven face for proper mask seal per OSHA guidelines
