The Trainee Respiratory Therapist role at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston is a per diem position under the medical director and supervisor. You will assist with respiratory therapy procedures, pulmonary diagnostics, and documentation, while learning under a registered or certified therapist.
Candidates are in the early stage of a CoARC accredited program with a plan to complete the first year of rotations.

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and respiratory/cardiopulmonary director/supervisor, the Trainee Respiratory Therapist is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. The Trainee Respiratory Therapist works under the direction of a registered or certified therapist. The competencies listed in sections I, II, and III will be learned as the trainee's knowledge and skill level increases.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $22.26 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
