Saint Francis Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Respiratory Technician to assess, implement, and evaluate respiratory care services across non-critical care areas in Tulsa, OK. You will document orders and patient data, ensuring care aligns with hospital policies and patient age and cultural needs.

You must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program and hold or be eligible for an Oklahoma Provisional/RCP license. The role includes mentoring staff and responding to code blues as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree can substitute.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program.
  • Valid Oklahoma Provisional / Respiratory Care Practitioner License (RCP) or temporary license.
  • 0–6 months related experience.
  • Ability to perform medication administration via nebulizer or MDI, humidity and aerosol therapy, medical gas administration, incentive spirometry, PEP therapy, pulse oximetry, chest physiotherapy, and CPR.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and deliver care/interventions to patients in non-critical care areas within policy.
  • Document pertinent clinical information and physician orders in the medical record.
  • Notify and respond to code blues in a timely manner.
  • Mentor and supervise new personnel as assigned.
  • Support department and hospital goals through trainings, variance reports, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and maintain professional relationships.

Current Saint Francis Employees - Please click HERE to login and apply.This position is ECB status – requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings.Job Summary: The Respiratory Technician assesses, implements, and evaluates the delivery of respiratory care services utilizing processes in accordance with hospital standards and department policies for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient status.Minimum Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree can be considered n lieu of a High School Diploma. Must also be currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program.Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Valid Oklahoma Provisional / Respiratory Care Practitioner License (RCP) or temporary letter to practice issued by the Oklahoma Medical Board.Work Experience: 0 - 6 months related experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform medication administration via nebulizer or metered dose inhaler, humidity and aerosol therapy, medical gas administration, incentive spirometry, PEP therapy, pulse oximetry, Chest Physiotherapy, and CPR. Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills. Basic PC skills as required for entering data and performing documentation. Establishes effective relationships with patients, patients' families, & medical staff utilizing positive customer service skills. Consistently maintains communication updates with department. Support departmental/hospital goals by attending in-services, meeting department education standards, and completing variance reports. Organizes, prioritizes and performs skills appropriate for the patient population. Anticipates patient/department needs. Performs other duties as assigned. Responds to code blues in a timely manner. Participates in mentoring of new personnel. Assists in monitoring quality and appropriateness of patient care.
