Job summary

Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton seeks a qualified Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide adult and pediatric respiratory care and perform blood gas analysis, including stick, draw, analysis and reporting.

Licensure requirements include California Respiratory Care Practitioner License, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy Program certifications; a 2-year certificate is preferred. Prior critical care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Certification from a Respiratory Therapy Program required.
• Completion of 2-year AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy Program certificate.
• California Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to adults and pediatrics as assigned.
• Perform blood gas analysis, including stick, draw, analysis and reporting.

Job description

Under the direction of the Supervisor/Manager/Director, the RCP will provide respiratory care appropriate to the area of assignment; adult and pediatric. Performs all duties of blood gas analysis including stick, draw, analysis and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Certification from a Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Coursework/Training: Completion of 2-year certificate from an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• California Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• National Provider ACLS - American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
• National Provider PALS - American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 yearof Critical care experience in adult intensive care.
• Pediatric experience.
• EKG experience.
