Job summary

Asante in Grants Pass, OR seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner 2 for the 3rd shift (nights). You will provide advanced respiratory care in adult ICU, ER, and pediatric settings as needed, with leadership responsibilities and blood gas lab duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Respiratory Therapy, current NBRC credentials, Oregon RT license, and BLS; relocation assistance may be available for external candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy preferred.
• Experience in advanced practitioner specialty indicating ability to perform after orientation.
• RRT/CRT credentialing per NBRC requirements; Oregon RT license; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care in adult ICU, ER, and pediatric areas as assigned.
• May manage blood gas labs and serve in team leadership roles.

SalaryRange:$41.12 - $56.54

Shift Differentials:

• $1.79 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
• $3.75 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
• $1.60 extra for working weekends

Position Summary

The Respiratory Care Practitioner 2 at Asante is an Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner has acquired additional credentialing and competencies as outlined in the Respiratory Critical Care Orientation, Respiratory Care Services Competency Evaluation and Respiratory Care Services’ Career Ladder, in one or more of the following: Adult Critical Care, Pediatric Care, Neonatal Care, Pulmonary Function Technology, Team leadership. The RCP-2 may enable the practitioner to perform respiratory care duties in the adult intensive care units, attend to patients in the ER and/or provide pediatric floor care if applicable. Responsibilities may also include management of blood gas labs, as assigned for specific job roles.

Experience

• Successful applicants should have experience specific to the posted Advanced Practitioner specialty position. Such experience should indicate that the applicant would be able to demonstrate advanced competencies after completion of orientation(s).

Licensure/Certifications

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) must be obtained upon start
• An individual licensed prior to January 1, 2018, who obtained licensure with a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential through the NBRC, is not required to obtain the RRT credential
• RT-P: Respiratory Therapist licensed by Oregon Health Licensing Office (HLO) required upon start
• BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start
• For Asante Ashland; PALS, ACLS, and NRP must be obtained within 6 months of start
• For Asante Three Rivers Medical Center (ATRMC); NRP and PALS is required upon start.

Preferred Licensure/Certifications at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC)

• ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified from American Heart Association
• PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor certification by the American Heart Association

Required Skills

• Ability to assess the patient/situation, analyze the data, formulate a plan, and then implement the plan
• Ability to function effectively in a team environment utilizing consistent and appropriate communication as both a team member and leader
