Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner I to join our Chicago-based team. You will work across adult med-surg units, emergency department, and critical care, delivering and adjusting prescribed respiratory therapies while coordinating with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Active or Pending Illinois Respiratory Care License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Competent in all adult med surg units in all respiratory therapies and modalities.
• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy; adjusts frequencies as appropriate.
• Monitors, records and communicates patient condition to the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and/or families about respiratory disease management and resources.
• Precept students and participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
• Responds to clinical emergencies and promotes teamwork.
