  • Troubleshoots and performs equipment repairs within department guidelines.
  • Inventories and documents medical gases and equipment.
  • Ensures medical gases are handled safely.
  • Assembles equipment in preparation for patient use.

Job Description
K.S.A.’s:
  • Position requires High School Diploma.
  • Considerable eye-hand coordination, accurate touch in adjustment, calibration, repair, and assembly of complicated and delicate respiratory equipment.
  • Proficient verbal and written skills.
Job Duties:
  • Assures availability of all life support equipment and medical gas for department operation.
  • Calibrates diagnostic and life support devices, e.g., ventilators, analyzers, and monitors.
  • Troubleshoots and performs equipment repairs within department guidelines.
  • Inventories and documents medical gases and equipment.
  • Ensures medical gases are handled safely.
  • Assembles equipment in preparation for patient use.
  • Processes equipment for cleaning/sterilization in accordance with the Hospitals infection control guidelines and stocks respiratory care equipment.
  • Replaces and maintains equipment set-ups in assigned areas according to department guidelines.
  • Assures charging of respiratory equipment and records the status for purpose of charging and medical records.
  • Performs order entry/acknowledgment of department services for charging.
  • Ensures appropriate functioning of equipment through rotation for preventative maintenance and repair.
  • Sets up and maintains emergency standby equipment at patient’s bedside and/or designated areas.
  • Assures availability and function of life support equipment and medical gases for daily operation.
  • Performs routine servicing and documentation of all equipment ordered for patient use.
  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers, and others.

Pay Range

$18.00-$27.00 Hourly

The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.
